Description

In the center of the fresco Guidoriccio da Fogliano rides to the left. The knight wears a highly decorated dress that emphasizes the importance. On the fabric you can see small black diamonds lined up and twigs with leaves. The horse also wears a cloak made of the same fabric. The knight's face is in profile and his appearance is that of a mature man. The leader holds a rein with his left hand while the other is suspended below. Guidoriccio da Fogliano rides through a hilly landscape. On the right, at the bottom, you can see a military camp. Small tents are arranged around large pavilions on which the insignia to which they belong are painted. To the left, however, you can see a fortress protected by thick perimeter walls on which the Sienese flag flies. On the mountain on the left is perched a fortified medieval village and a castle. In addition, at the top of the path that climbs the mountain opens the city gate. Finally, at the bottom runs a wooden defensive fence on which some pointed spears are fixed.
