Description
The angelic groups are distributed symmetrically on the two walls lateral sides of the scarsella, western and eastern. They carry out the role of intermediaries between the human and the divine, between the Magi and the shepherds depicted in the main room is the Virgin Mary adoring the Child depicted in the altarpiece. Angels on the ground They leave a platform made of clouds and put their feet on the grass of the flowery meadow. They bear multicolored wings adorned with eyes like feathers peacock; they wear elegant tunics diversified in colors and combinations, with golden and gemmed borders. The angels standing, divided in two symmetrical groups (one on the left wall and the other on the the right one), are arranged in a row forming two wings of a choir and they sing the hymn of Gloria; whose verses can be read inscribed in the golden halos and in some robes ("gloria, in excelsis deo et in terra", "adoramus te glorificamus te" "et in terr[a] pax").
Information
The work is created through the technique of Pictography, according to the ancient methods and natural materials; is handmade entirely in Umbria.
Each frame is made of solid wood, with an interlocking joint; the first primer is based on Bologna gypsum and natural glue; the later are in tempera. The decoration is handmade and, usually, it is studied on the work it will contain. The design is inspired by the museum frames of the various eras.
