Description
The scene of the Last Supper represented in Leonardo's Last Supper is set within a closed architectural space. The ceiling is decorated with a coffered coffers. On the walls, on the other hand, hang some tapestries that are no longer visible. On the back wall there are also three windows. On the table there are dishes and crockery with attention to the smallest details. The large table behind which the apostles and Christ are seated occupies the entire horizontal portion. Jesus stands in the center alone. His arms are resting on the table and his face is reclined. The eyes are half-open and the lips slightly apart. The apostles are arranged in groups of three to his right and left. The apostle Peter is fourth from the left. The man leans forward holding a knife with his right hand. Judas has a bag with money with him and in surprise he overturns a salt shaker. On the right are Matthew, Judas Thaddeus and Simon. The fifth from the right is Giacomo Maggiore while Filippo clasps his hands to his chest declaring himself innocent.
