267,00 € iva inclusa
Fresco pictography on lime (fresco). Original work: fresco, 1303-1306, Padua, Scrovegni Chapel,
Description
The scene takes place under a wooden scaffolding similar to the "Nativity" on a rocky background. Mary, dressed in an intense red robe with gold borders and an ultramarine blue mantle, offers her Son in swaddling clothes and covered by a pastel green cloak to the adoration of the Three Wise Men, who have come following the comet that can be seen above. Each has red shoes, a symbol of royalty. The first king, the old one, is already kneeling and has laid his crown on the ground, while his gift is probably the golden reliquary held by the angel on the right. The second king, of mature age, carries a horn full of incense, while the younger one a cup whose lid he lifts to show the myrrh ointment.
