Description
This work was painted in the first decade of the fifteenth century by an unknown painter from Pavia, conventionally called Maestro dell'ancona Barbavara, who also translated the model into a fresco in the church of Santa Maria del Carmine in Pavia. The gold background highlights the bright colors of the robes and the softer ones of the complexions of the Madonna and Child, while giving the scene a suspended, timeless atmosphere.
Information
The work is executed through the technique of Pictography according to ancient methods and natural materials; it is handmade entirely in Umbria.
