Ghirlandaio, Last Supper (fresco)

Description

In the fresco there is a horseshoe-shaped table inserted in a room with a checkered floor and, beyond the back, the opening in the vaults on a loggia towards a garden, which fit into the real architecture of the room. Also remarkable is the attention to detail, which gives the individual objects the value of a real still life. In the central part, where the two arches of the vault join, a small Crucifix was depicted, according to a well-established scheme of placing scenes from the Passion next to the representation of the Supper.
